Authors are encouraged to submit high quality, original work that has not appeared in, nor is under consideration by, other journals. Full versions of papers which have previously appeared in conference proceedings will also be considered (this should be indicated at the time of submission). Poor English may be a reason not to consider a paper for reviewing. In case of any questions about the following procedures, contact us at cai.ui@savba.sk.
Submission of manuscripts
Authors are requested to submit their manuscript as a PDF file following the OJS procedure. Our LaTeX journal style file is binding for final, ready-to-publish CAI papers, along with the LaTeX "article class" format.
The non-standard LaTeX style CAI (.zip, 409 kB) is the required format.
If you prefer, for the initial submission you can use the provided MS Word template (.docx, 52 kB; you may need to install the fonts CMU Serif and CMU Typewriter Text to use this template) to generate the submitted PDF file. Do not submit your paper in MS Word format — export it as a PDF and submit this PDF file. However, if your paper is accepted for publication, a submission of a LaTeX source file (with the required figures and any additional files) will be necessary anyway.
Please always provide your real, institutional e-mail addresses. Submissions containing e-mail addresses that cannot be used to verify the authors' credentials will be declined.
In case of any technical problems, contact us at cai@type.sk.
Papers submitted in other than the indicated format will be rejected without review.
Submission preparation checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- Does the submission match with the CAI topics?
- Does the article contain significant new contribution compared to already published work of the same or other author(s)? Does it provide interesting information for potential readers?
- Is the title sound and clear? Does abstract clearly explain the contribution? Are the character and contents of the paper clear from the title and abstract?
- Does Introduction provide relevant information for the article topic? Does it provide understandable information about the problem addressed, about contribution and about motivation/need for such contribution? Is it understandable for anyone in computer science field?
- Does the article provide relevant survey of state-of-the-art relevant to the topic of the paper? If the paper is interdisciplinary, does it overview all relevant state-of-the-art in related fields?
- Does the paper appropriately compare the performance of proposed methodologies with those found in the published literature? Are the references provided up to date? Is adequate credit given to other contributors in the field and are references sufficiently complete? Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- Is evaluation methodology provided/explained? Is the evaluation method/methodology used relevant for the article topic? If contribution is evaluated experimentally, are the used data/dataset relevant/significant for the article topic? Is the size of experiment statistically significant? If contribution is evaluated by other method, such as providing use cases, providing formal proof or other, is it significant? Does it prove the contribution?
- Is the scientific contribution of the paper significant? Is comparison to state-of-the-art and existing methods provided, or does it address the problem in a novel way which is somehow measurable?
- Is the contribution properly explained in an understandable way? Is the paper clearly, concisely, accurately and logically written?
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Form of manuscripts.
